One would have to be daft to build a vinyl record player into an electric car. Or not?
The engineers at Daft Music Studios are born in the music industry and they are devoted to creating the best possible music experience for music fans all around the world. That’s how the idea of a built-in vinyl record player in a car was born…
For Zoute Grand Prix 2026, we partnered with electric performance car brand Polestar to create something unexpected: a one of a kind Polestar 3 Performance featuring a custom integrated vinyl record player.
The installation combines the exceptional Bowers & Wilkins audio system in Polestar 3 with the tactile experience of vinyl listening. Visitors can choose a record, drop the needle and experience the sound system from the driver’s seat.
The car will make its public debut at Zoute Grand Prix in Knokke-Heist from 7 to 11 October 2026. Following the event, the activation will be available for selected opportunities across the Polestar network.
Why?
Daft Creative Agency strengthens your brand narrative by exploring the space where music, experience and technology come together.
While many EV manufacturers are pushing toward fully autonomous driving, Polestar wants the driver to feel the road and actively engage with the physics of driving.
This perfectly aligns with the feeling of experiencing music on a vinyl record player rather than following random playlists on Spotify. You have to physically slide the disc from the sleeve, place it on the platter, brush off the dust, and carefully drop the needle.
“Innovation is not only about technology, but more importantly about the experiences it enables.”
